Happy 3 months!

(writing this over the last 2 weeks but only including 3 month developments)

Wow, my little baby is 3 months old.  I can’t believe it.  It is such a joy to sit back and think about all the things he can do now that he couldn’t do 3 months ago (or even 1 month ago).  It has been such an incredible month of growth (physical, mental and social).  Nothing is better than him gazing in my eyes and cracking a giant smile!

I can look back and I remember where he was at his one month and two month dr appointments in terms of his size and development.  What is crazy is that almost all of his changes have come in the last month.  When we left his 2 month appointment, he was not making a lot of eye contact and would only occasionally even look at specific object, much less track them.  He rarely made many noises and would mostly just lay there on the play mat with his head to one side and wouldn’t reach for or hold on to objects.

Fast forward to today and he is a flurry of activity.  He can mostly hold his head up without support (though does better on mom, dad, and Julia than on others because he wants to push back and look at the person and can’t support head tilted back that far).  He has the best control pushing head back and is working on pushing forward but is getting better and better every day.  He loves to look around and see the world around him.  His favorite toy is the activity mat where he repeatedly bats at the parrot or grasps the parrot’s feathers or ring.  He also loves sitting his bouncer and batting at the dragonfly with two discs (we call them oreos) hanging down.  He sees and hears well and likes to look around and the world around him and see what is going on, but he also just likes staring and his mommy and daddy as well.  He coos and oos and smiles for us more and more.

His favorite things this month are his playmat and getting diaper changes.  He also started to really enjoy baths this month and has found that kicking the water is pretty fun!  He loves being sung too and mommy and daddy are quickly singing every song we can remember the lyrics too.  He heard a lot of “Sound of Music” from mom and “Edelweiss” from daddy and “I’ve been working the railroad” from Julia.

We love our little boy!
